Our Beliefs
The Word – We believe the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God. It is accurate, authoritative, and applicable to our everyday lives. (2 Timothy 3:15-17, 1 Thessalonians 2:13, 2 Peter 1:21)
The Trinity – There is only one true and living God and He exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are equal in every divine perfection and they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence, and redemption. (Matthew 28:19, Luke 3:22, Deuteronomy 6:4)
Jesus Christ – The Lord Jesus Christ, the one and only Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin, Mary, and is God’s Anointed One, empowered by the Holy Spirit to inaugurate God’s Kingdom on earth. He was crucified for our sins, died, was buried, resurrected and ascended into heaven, and is now alive today! (Matthew 1:23, 1 Peter 1:22, Acts 10:38, 2 Corinthians 5:21)
The Holy Spirit – We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Jesus Christ. The Spirit’s presence assures us of our relationship with Christ. We believe that He baptizes, fills, heals physically, mentally, and spiritually, seals, guides, instructs, comforts, convicts, gives spiritual gifts to those who believe, and makes us more like Christ. (Matthew 28:19, John 16:8, 1 Corinthians 6:11, Ephesians 1:13-14, Ephesians 3:16, 1 Corinthians 12:4-13, Romans 8:29)
The Fall – Humankind was created in the image of God to know and enjoy Him, and to govern the earth; yet we willfully rejected the Lordship and glory of God for which we were intended. Under the temptation of Satan, our original parents fell from grace, bringing sin, sickness, and God's judgment of death to the earth. We believe that all people are sinners by nature and choice. Consequently, sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives. (Genesis 1:26-27; 2:17; 3:6, Romans 5:12-19)
The Salvation – In His sinless, perfect life, Jesus Christ met the demands of the law, and in His atoning death on the cross, He took God's judgment for sin which we deserve as lawbreakers. We are saved by God’s grace, through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or of any human efforts. Anyone can be restored to fellowship with God through repenting, believing and receiving Jesus as their Savior and Lord. (Luke 24:47, John 3:3, Romans 10:13-15, Ephesians 2:8, Titus 2:11)
The Healing of the Sick – Healing of the sick is illustrated in the life and ministry of Jesus and included in the commission of Jesus to His disciples. It is given as a sign, which is to follow believers. The victorious redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides freedom from the power of the enemy: sin, lies, sickness and torment. (Psalm 103:2-3, Isaiah 53:5, Matthew 8:16-17, Mark 16:17-18, Acts 8:6-7, James 5:14-16, Romans 11:29)
The Church – The Church consists of all who put their faith in Jesus Christ. The church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit. Every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the church as a member of the body of believers. The Church exists to carry on the ministry of Jesus Christ and further advance His kingdom by undoing the works of the enemy, preaching and living the good news of God’s love, discipling the nations, baptizing and teaching them to love and obey God. (Ephesians 1:22, 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23; John 17:11, 20-23)
The Ordinances of the Church
Baptism in Water – The ordinance of baptism by immersion is commanded by the Scriptures. All who repent and believe on Christ as Savior and Lord are to be baptized. Thus, they declare to the world that they have died with Christ and that they also have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life. (Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:16, Romans 6:4)
Holy Communion – The Lord's Supper, consisting of the elements – bread and the fruit of the vine – is the symbol expressing our sharing the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:4), a memorial of his suffering and death (1 Corinthians 11:26), a prophecy of His second coming (1 Corinthians 11:26), and is instructed on all believers "till He come!"
Marriage – We believe marriage is God-ordained and it to be an exclusive relationship and a lifelong union between a man and a woman. (Ephesians 5:22-33, Genesis 1:27-28, Matthew 19:4-6)
The Return – We believe in the ever-increasing government of God and in the Blessed Hope, which will be consummated in the glorious, visible, triumphant appearing of Christ: His return to the earth as King for His overcoming bride – His Church. After Christ returns to reign, He will bring about the final defeat of Satan and all his subordinates and works, the resurrection of the dead, the final judgment and eternal conscious punishment of the wicked, and the eternal blessing of the righteous. (Isaiah 9:7, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, Roman 8:23, Titus 2:13, 1 Corinthians 15:51-52, Revelation 21:1)
The Choice – Heaven and hell are real places. We believe that each person will exist eternally. Whether we spend eternity with God or separated from Him is determined by our response to the grace and salvation of Jesus. (John 5:29, 1 Corinthians 15:51-58, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Revelation 19-20)
